Life is art — and art is life.A working artist from Fitchburg, Massachusetts, handcrafting originals that connect the world creatively.
You are here: AboutI have been creating art for as long as I can remember, sketchbook in hand, turning ideas into visuals with raw energy.
My artistic journey covers it all — daring adult pieces that challenge the norm, punchy comic-influenced scenes, vibrant urban takes, wild fantasy and anime, and abstract works that break all the rules. Every piece comes from hands-on experience, risk, and 40 years of finding new ways to say something real.
In 2020, I launched John Sands Art online, finally opening up my world of artwork to curious minds everywhere. My story isn’t polished or predictable; I go where the inspiration takes me.
Original, unapologetic creations blending adult themes, comics, urban life, bold abstracts, anime dreams and fantasy worlds — all handcrafted by John Sands and available worldwide.

I’m an artist, writer, photographer, illustrator and creator. Being a Black creator in today’s art scene, I am here to make space for raw expression, cultural pride, and the kind of originality you actually notice. Artists should invite you in, not push you out.
Thank you for supporting independent art and keeping creativity alive. God bless!
Sincerely, John Sands — the Best in the World 🌍
